Local Wood Chip Recycling

Request Wood Chips

Give locally generated wood chips a second life in your landscape. Canopy Solutions periodically delivers fresh arborist wood chips generated during our professional tree-care operations to properties located near our scheduled work.

Canopy Solutions wood chip delivery
How It Works

This is a request list—not a scheduled delivery service.

Submit your property to our wood chip queue. When our crews are working nearby and generate an appropriate load, we review requests in that area for possible delivery.

Delivery is not guaranteed and we cannot provide a specific delivery date.

Availability depends on our work locations, material generated, truck access, service area, and other requests already in the queue.

Three Simple Steps

Requesting chips is easy, but delivery depends on where our tree crews are working and whether your property can safely accommodate our truck.

1

Join the Queue

Submit your contact information, address, dump location, and access details.

2

We Work Nearby

When our crews generate chips near your property, we review nearby requests and available truck access.

3

Take the Load

If your property is selected, we deliver the entire available load to the approved dump location.

Before You Request

Be Ready for a Full Truckload

Wood chips are delivered by the truckload—not by the yard.

You must have enough space and a use for the entire load. We cannot deliver a partial load or take excess material back after dumping.

Wood Chip Delivery Information

Click a topic below for more information about the material, truck access, and using arborist wood chips.

What are arborist wood chips?

These are fresh chips produced directly from professional tree-care work. They are not processed or manufactured landscape mulch.

What You May Receive

✓ One or multiple tree species

✓ Wood and bark

✓ Leaves or evergreen needles

✓ Small twigs

✓ Different chip sizes

✓ Fresh material with varying moisture

What This Is Not

× Decorative bark

× Bagged landscape mulch

× Uniformly screened material

× Guaranteed species

× Guaranteed color or chip size

Can our truck safely access your property?

Our chip truck is a large, heavy commercial vehicle and requires substantial overhead clearance when the dump body is raised.

Overhead Clearance

Check for utility lines, communication lines, tree branches, roof overhangs, and structures.

Driveway & Surface

Consider whether pavement, gravel, lawn, or other surfaces can support a loaded commercial truck.

Room to Maneuver

The truck needs room to enter, position itself, raise the dump body, unload, and safely exit.

Underground Concerns

Tell us about septic systems, drain fields, irrigation, utilities, vaults, or soft ground.

Nearby Property

Consider curbs, retaining walls, fences, gates, buildings, vehicles, and neighboring property.

Driver Has Final Say

Our driver may decline or modify a delivery if access or dumping conditions are unsafe.

Why use wood chips around PNW trees?

Arborist wood chips can be an excellent mulch for trees and landscape beds, especially during our increasingly dry Pacific Northwest summers.

Conserves Moisture

Helps reduce evaporation and retain soil moisture during dry weather.

Moderates Soil Temperature

Insulates the soil surface and reduces rapid temperature changes around roots.

Supports Soil Health

Organic material gradually returns to the soil as the chips decompose.

Suppresses Competition

Proper mulch depth helps reduce grasses and weeds competing with tree roots.

Protects Trees

Mulched areas help keep mowers and string trimmers away from trunks and surface roots.

Recycles Local Material

Tree material generated locally can be returned directly to local landscapes.

How should I mulch around my trees?

✓ GOOD: Wide & Shallow

Spread wood chips approximately 2–4 inches deep over as much of the root zone as practical.

Keep the trunk and root flare visible.

× AVOID: The “Mulch Volcano”

Do not pile wood chips deeply against the trunk or bury the root flare.

More mulch is not necessarily better.
